Shiner St. Paul girls win TAPPS Class 2A State Track & Field Title

WACO — The Shiner St. Paul girls scored 125 points to wrap up their fourth straight TAPPS Class 2A state track and field championship Saturday at Panther Stadium.

Parker Clay won the shot put and discus, and the Lady Cardinals also finished first in the 1,600-meter relay to capture their sixth state title overall.

Kai Giese won the long jump for the St. Paul boys, which finished second in the Class 2A team standings.


St. Joseph’s Alisa Novosad finished first in the Class 5A long jump, second in the pole vault, third in the 100 and 200, and ran a leg on the 400 relay that finished second.

The Lady Flyers finished fourth in the team standings with 67.5 points.
