WACO – Freshman Julianna Davis won the individual title to lead the Shiner St. Paul girls to their sixth straight TAPPS Class 2A state cross country championship Monday at the Cottonwood Creek Golf Course.

Walker Jackson finished seventh to lead the St. Paul boys to a third-place finish.

The Lady Cardinals scored 33 points, easily outdistancing second-place Temple Holy Trinity, which scored 97.

The Cardinals scored 104 points. Lubbock Southcrest won the boys title with 76 points, and Amarillo Ascension was second with 90 points.

Davis finished in a time of 13 minutes, 9.20 seconds, and was joined at the medal ceremony by teammate Rebecca Wagner, who was seventh in a time of 13:38.60.

The Lady Cardinals’ Riley Johnson was 11th in a time of 13:50.80, Cameron Pesek was 12th (13:56.00), Hope Kapavik was 16th (14:24.10), Paige Brown was 17th (14:24.60), and Bailey Blair was 19th (15:02.10).

Jackson had a time of 18:24.70 and Austin Davis also medaled for the Cardinals by finishing eighth in a time of 18:25.70.

The Cardinals’ Dalton Jahn was 27th in a time of 19:53.40, Sam Benes was 33rd (20:41.50), Noah Boedeker was 44th (21:21.00) and Cole Brown was 61st (22:27.80).

Carissa Barron finished 32nd in a time of 16:16.80 to lead the Faith Academy girls, who finished ninth with a score of 214 points.

Faith Academy’s Brinklee Glawson was 59th in a time of 18:02.50, Jade Thomas was 65th (18:29.70), Grace Gonzalez was 67th (18:31.20), Rebekah Hurt was 68th (18:32.10), Mikaela Longoria was 82nd (20:03.00), and Haley Mallette was 86th (20:34.10).

Andrew Garcia finished 62nd in a time of 22:35.50 to top the Faith Academy boys, who finished 11th with 285 points.

Faith Academy’s John Graham was 65th in a time of 22:47.80, Isaiah Vasquez was 66th (22:47.90), Tyler Torres was 75th (23:55.80), and Julio Clauson was 76th (24:15.50).
