WACO - On Saturday ( October 29, 2016 ), the Shiner St. Paul girls won the TAPPS Class 2A state championship for the fourth straight year.
Senior Emma Morgan was a member of the state champion Lady Cardinals all four years.
Morgan was joined by teammates Elyssa Wagner, who has won three straight titles with the team, Bailey Blair, Macy Grabarkievtz, Hope Kapavik, Ashley Wachsmuth and Riley Johnson.
Wagner finished seventh place.
St. Joseph finished eighth overall in Class 5A. Alex Nagle was the highest finisher for St. Joseph, finishing in 21st place.
Nagle was joined by Sydney Barker, Meadow Pratka, Annie Mozisek, Alisa Novosad, Reagan Heard, Melanie Hermes.
The St. Paul boys -- Lane Jackson, Walker Jackson, Nathan Wagner, Andrew Wagner, Frank Benes, Jacob Darilek and Cole Brown -- were the runners-up in TAPPS Class 2A.
Lane Jackson finished ninth.
The St. Joseph boys finished 23rd. Team members were Juliann Marroquin, Matthew Padron, Nicholas Adams, Michael Morales and Pierce Hammack.
