St. Paul wins TAPPS 2A cross country state title

WACO - Shiner St. Paul had two of the top five finishers, and four of the top 15 in Saturday's TAPPS Class 2A state cross country meet that was won by the Lady Cardinals.

Natalie Jackson finished in second place individually with a time of 12:41 - less than five seconds behind the top finisher, Aver Martin of Spring Providence.

St. Paul gained 43 points in the 3,200-meter race. Temple Holy Trinity was second with 81.

Emma Morgan finished fourth in individuals receiving points with a 13:23 time. Elyssa Wagner was 10th with a time of 14:02, Mallory Grabarkievtz was 11th in 14:07.

Alyssa Kutac finished 16th (14:16), Ashley Wachsmuth 17th (14:21.1) and Juliette Siegel 20th (14:31).
