The St. Paul Cardinals scored 26 first quarter points and romped to a 40-13 win at San Antonio St. Gerard on Thursday night ( November 7, 2018 ) to cap the regular season.

The win put St. Paul in second place in district and they will host Legacy Prep Christian Academy on Friday.

Scoring started with a 42-yard run by Joseph Natal 2:07 into the game. Barely 90 seconds of game later, Kai Giese returned a punt 67 yards for a touchdown.

Carson Reese added a 4-yard touchdown run at the 6:40 mark and Giese scored again, this time a 40-yard pass from Zak Johnson.

In the second period, Natal had a 1-yard run and Johnson ran 55 yards for a touchdown.

The Royals got on the board twice in the second half — Jvyontae Johnson had a 65-yard run in the third frame and Victor Lechuga scored on a 1-yard run on literally the last play of the game.
