The St. Paul Cardinals have an extra day to prepare for its next district opponent Boerne Geneva.

The Cardinals play in Boerne on Saturday ( October 1, 2016 ).at 1 p.m.

"They are one of the better teams in the district," St. Paul head coach Jake Wachsmuth said. "They have only been playing 11-man football for a few years but will present a challenge to us."

With a Saturday game, St. Paul had extra time to work on fundamentals and was able to study film more at the start of the week.

Wachsmuth said playing on Saturday will affect next week's game due to a quick turnaround.

On offense, Geneva is a spread team with 2+2 and trip sets but are balanced in their attack.

They run a 3-3 stack/3-5-3 and make good use of the talents of their linebackers.

Wachsmuth said he looks for St. Paul offense to eliminate turnovers and control the football while the defense needs to play crisp and prevent Geneva from making a big play.

Eagle quarterback Will Langenbahn has has completed 41-of-61 passes for 702 yards and nine touchdowns, with his main target as Sammy Ledoux (14-246, three touchdowns). Leading the ground game is Devon Ahrens who has 216 yards and four touchdowns.
