Game Preview: Shiner St. Paul Cardinals at Flatonia Bulldogs


Battles between Shiner St. Paul and the Flatonia Bulldogs always turn out to be good, well-fought games.

And that is what St. Paul will be expecting as they take on Flatonia on the road at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow (Friday September 9, 2016).

"Flatonia is always a very solid team and it will be a good game," Cardinals head coach Jake Wachsmuth said.

Wachsmuth said he would like to see the Cardinals offense improve on their blocking, assignments and balance.

"We need to sustain blocks, have no missed assignments and pass the ball well. We really did not have to throw it in our game against Bryan St. Joseph because of the situation," he said.

Against St. Joseph, the Cardinal defense gave up a big pass play.

"We have allowed a few big plays in the first two games and our defense needs to eliminate them," Wachsmuth said.
