HALLETTSVILLE — The Shiner St. Paul Cardinals (8-0, 5-0) knocked off their rivals in a tightly-contested game, beating the Hallettsville Sacred Heart Indians 16-6 to remain unbeaten this season.
St. Paul’s win streak now extends to 16 games, dating back to last season.
Conor Kresta led the way with 26 rushes for 112 yards. Joseph Natal also had 12 carries for 67 yards.
Meanwhile, River Haynes went 2-of-5 for 69 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
Kai Giese grabbed a touchdown pass for 44 yards while Natal had a 25-yard reception.
The Cardinals are on a bye this week, then finish their district season with a game at home against San Marcos Academy.
