Shiner St. Paul Cardinals vs. Beaumont Legacy Christian Warriors
Friday (November 27, 2015), 7:30 p.m. Woodlands Christian Academy, The Woodlands
The St. Paul Cardinals match up with the Warriors of Beaumont Legacy Christian at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Woodlands Christian Academy at 5800 Alden Woods Dr. in the Woodlands.
"They are a pretty good football team," Cardinals head coach Jake Wachsmuth said. "They have a good quarterback , good running back and their strength is their wide receivers."
The Warriors average 230 yards passing a game and 186 running.
Quarterback Willie Jones had hit 130-of-203 passes for 2,573 yards, 31 touchdowns and eight picks.
Taydren Espirit has 28 catches for 699 yards and seven touchdowns; Darren Lacy has 44 receptions for 724 yards and five scores while Tristan Ozmun (21-384) and Kandin Robertson (16-349) have six touchdown catches each.
Madison Johnsen has 394 yards and five touchdowns. Robertson is the leading rusher with 1,127 yards and 16 touchdowns.
St. Paul's defense did not have a good outing last week against Austin TSD.
"We need to play like we normally do on defense," Wachsmuth said.
Legacy Christian runs a split on defense with man or cover-3 in the secondary.
"They have a talent for forcing turnovers," he said.
Robertson has 95 total tackles.
"We need to have sustained drives and take care of the football because last week we did have a couple of turnovers," Wachsmuth said.
