SHINER -- Gil Hodges ran for 140 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Shiner St. Paul Cardinals to a 45-14 win over the San Marcos Academy Bears.

Hodges scored on runs of 15, 24, 7, and 5 yards as the Cardinals improved to 4-1 on the season. The Bears fell to 3-2.

The Bears took their lone lead midway through the first quarter on a 1-yard run by Adam Richardson.

Josh Soto answered back for the Cardinals with a 6-yard run and Hodges put the Cardinals up for good with his 15-yard run.

Soto also tossed a 17-yard pass to Matt Pohl and scored on a 20-yard run.
