PETTUS - The St. Paul Cardinals rolled up 494 yards of offense and scored in every quarter en route to a 47-20 win over Pettus.
The Cardinals finished with 411 yards rushing behind Travis Sauer's 152 and Gil Hodges' 134. Sauer had scoring runs of 8 and 3 yards, while Hodges scored on runs of 42, 45 and 28 yards.
Josh Soto also connected with Matthew Pohl on a 56-yard scoring strike, while Michael Pesek added a 63-yard scoring run.
Pettus used a Justin Duran 83-yard kickoff return to get on the scoreboard in the first half and added two more scores in the fourth quarter.
The Cardinals will compete in Division IV, District 3 in the upcoming season against Hallettsville Sacred Heart, New Braunfels Christian, Bryan Brazos Christian, San Antonio St. Gerard and Waco Texas Christian.
