WACO - The St. Paul Cardinals used a 11-hit attack to take a 12-1 win in five innings over Colleyville Covenant on Friday afternoon at the Waco ISD Sports Complex in the Class 2A semifinals of the TAPPS State Baseball Tournament.

The Cardinals advanced to today's championship game at Mary Hardin-Baylor at 10 a.m.

St. Paul will be seeking its sixth state title against The Woodlands Christian.

Nick Loving and Trevor Hybner were each 3-for-4 to spark the Cardinals while Cody Mraz was 2-for-3. James Picha, Dagan Hybner and Jeremy Petru also had hits for the Cardinals.

St. Paul got off to a fast start, scoring five runs in the first inning on six hits. Loving had two hits in the first inning.
